I'm thinking about moving to digital capture but am concerned that even if I send my digital images to a pro lab to be printed they won't have the same lasting power as prints from film.
Do pro labs use the same methods for printing both from digital and film these days?
Any advice welcome.
Depends what you define as pro labs. Most labs scan the negs and then use the same inks and paper as they would for a digital image.
Have you thought about it?
150 years, you won't be around to claim against them and you probably won't find them in 150 years anyway.
I'm sure they have some way of testing it Ellis....LOL
Has to be better that some of the shots I have on photographic paper here that have faded noticably after a period of 10-15 years. And I might add have been stored in cool conditions in the dark?
