We've been running on a low number of moderators for the last year or so and have decided to put the feelers out and look for a couple more to join the team.

Would you like to join us?

We need a couple of volunteers who are very level headed, can react quickly to situations, can cope with being called a nazi (yes it happens!), don't take things personally, can make decisions based on our terms and conditions (and can help craft our future T&Cs), know the difference between a flounce/troll/bully, can help people who're new to the site, can step in and diffuse a forum riot, and other stuff like that. Sound like the ideal job? Get in touch. Send a message via the report system.

The members should know their way around ePHOTOzine and ideally active contributors, but we will consider someone newish who's got a proven record on other sites as a moderator.

can cope with being called a nazi (yes it happens!) - shows you are doing your job. It's a compliment
can help craft our future T&Cs - ban 3 people before breakfast. Give 5 stars to every picture with naked breasts
know the difference between a flounce - ban them for being a wuss
troll - ban them for being an idiot
bully - ban them to show them what its like
can help people who're new to the site - tell them to buy Canon. End of.
can step in and diffuse a forum riot - ban the lot of 'em
Sound like the ideal job? - if you think so, you should be banned

    Simples.

I assume moderators are not allowed to enter ephotozine competitions?

We didn't think it fair not to allow this so we have never had that ruling in place. The problem is some people would think we were biased if a moderator won, but that's their problem - we would never give preference to a moderator in a competition.

    A very pertinent question.
