Bought AP tonight in Tesco as it had a bit of a write-up on this camera. They're suggesting 1000 for the body, 450 for the 18mm f2, 500 for the 35mm f1.4 and 500 for the 60mm f2.4macro, all focal lengths times 1.5. Price described as comparable to the Sony NEX-7 and a lot cheaper than a Leica M9!

It's spot on as far as I'm concerned and unless the IQ proves to be a disaster I will buy one.

may I ask why would anyone wants one? Is it style?
It is not much smaller than a Dslr.
It is the same cropped sensor.
What's the attraction?

For me, it has simplicity on it's side. I've never really liked the Eos system I use, handlingwise. I really like having an aperture ring, shutter speed and exposure compensation dial that don't rely on an LCD as they are pretty much the only controls I actually use on any of my cameras.

For what i'd use it for - street/candid/walkaround - I mostly only want a 50mm fixed lens, with the option to add a wide. I also love the switchable OVF/EVF of the X100. Add that to the fact it's about the same size as the contax or canon FD bodies I generally use to get that simplicity and it's a no brained.

A bit like randomrubble, i dont rely on the LCD screen. like the X100 because the controls i almost exlusively use, are on the body and lens. so the X Pro1 is a rather appealing unit. No doubt the image quality will be quite sublime if the X100 is anything to go by.

That said, the X100 did have its detractors in the early days, me included. We were demanding substantial firmware updates, and to a lesser extent, still are, though mainly revolving around manual focus and focussing speed..

I'm more inclined to wait until this time next year to see how any updates go and what the general consensus really is. I read that the X100 exceeded Fuji's sales expctations, and no doubt the XPro will do the same.

Is there a size comparison with the X100 anywhere? I can pocket my X100 when i go out, but get the distinct impressionm the XPro is a bag job .

Wow, just seen a comparison. Somewhat bigger! Disappointed to read about the manual focussing too (no focus confirmation or focus peaking)
