    hi, got me new xpan however i bought some nd filters (lee)and was wondering how to use them correctly as this is a rangefinder and not an slr, prevoiusly i used them on my s2pro but was wondering if anyone had any tips.

    I believe you have to judge by eye but not having a rangefinder, I can't say for sure. Sounds about right though considering the taking lens is not the viewing lens

    Yes, you'll need to judge by eye. A soft edged type would probably be the easier learning tool.

    Hi Fremantle

    I too have an XPan. As both Tim and Frank have mentioned, you need to load the grad into its holder, close one eye and view your subject through the holder/filter handheld. Move the grad up/down until its in the desired position and screw it onto the lense (without knocking the filter!)
