.....You begin to comment on the lovely rainbow effect horizontal lens flare when watching movies and openly question what lens is being used.
Saw this thread elsewhere, was entertaining, decided to pinch it and bring it here. So, how do you know when your a photographer?
The rainbow lens flare always catches my eye, some kind of Panavision lens?

....you mentally compose shots everywhere you go
Hit the nail on the head Ade. !!
When you're watching David Attenborough & you're thinking all the time "How the hell did they get that shot?"
When you stop having enough time to take photos for yourself !!!!
You look for dust spots in blue skies....outdoors. Yup, actually caught myself doing that a couple of months ago.
Whats a blue sky?
When you see a car crash, instead of giving first aid you give the poor sods 125th at f8
when a friend says " what a lovely view" and all you see are the telegraph poles!
When you're on holiday and your other half tells you to put the camera away for a bit and just experience the place you're at in "real life".
Completely missing the plot of a film because you're too intrigued about the lighting set up...
You see a sunset and think to yourself "looks a bit oversaturated to me"!
You're more interested in moving the person you are talking to into a non distracting background zone than actually listening to them.
When everything you look at is a potential shot, be it a bit of string or the sunset.
You don't munch a bag of crisps on location before handling camera and lenses
