Hi,
I'm interested what your favourite SLR is that you have ever owned.
It may be a camera that exceeded all your expectations, it may be your very first one or an old model you picked up at a car boot which is worth a fortune.

Mine was an old Fujica ST 801. It was my very first film SLR and I had been after an SLR for years, but had to use the colleges K1000s. I loved that camera and was gutted when someone at college stoled it.Sad
Cheers

Nikon FM2 - taught me all the basics - in fact I has two - a cool black one (with a motor drive) and a silver one.

Canon 5D is my favourite although I keep meaning to dust off the old Canon FTB and go and shoot some Velvia.

My first SLR was a Fujica too .....ST601 I think, loved that camera, it was all manual and the exposure meter had a needle! Later I had an Olympus OM10, loved that even more ....still have it in fact but haven't used it in years

My first was a Fujica ... ST701 (does that make a set with the others aboveSmile) Served me well for years. Would have to say, though the Pentax K10D is a real joy to use as is/was the Z1-P

Mamiya DSX 1000, has fond memories, For being the first brand new SLR that I bought ( Err very early 70's ) Anyhow carved from a sold lump of alloy, Fab standard Mamy lens.. Was stolen from me sometime in the mid 80's...Boo-Hoo-sniffle.

Olympus OM 3

I love that camera.

It sits on my music drawers as I speak.
But my new 40D is awesome and I wouldn't really want to go back to film now I have moved to digital.

My first real SLR was the Praktina IIA (made by the Pentacon factory). This had a rotating ring bayonet mount. I added a Zenith EM to take advantage of screw thread lenses.

I part exchanged the Zenith for the Fujica ST605, then added the Fujica AZ1 with short range zoom lens, 43 to 75mm.

The Praktina IIA I part exchanged for the Yashicaflex TLR.

When Fujica abandoned the screw thread for the x-mount with a range of plasticy cameras I changed the Fuji's for Yashica FR and FR1 cameras, with the Yashica/Contax bayonet mount.

All of this 30 years ago!

Previous to buying the Praktina I used a Corfield Periflex Gold Star - a sort of SLR - it had a periscope instead of a hinged mirror.

Before that - various rangefinder cameras too numerous to name or remember!

My overall favourites are the Contax 139Q which I still own and use.
