If you could choose an all time favourite band made up of individual members drafted by you, who would they be, what would you name the band, and which fantasy position would you play in the band? Also, what type of music would the band be into, or would it be flexible? Only fill in the instruments you would want in your band.

    Singer/s Male/Female
    Backup/Chorus
    Lead Guitar
    Rythm Guitar
    Drums
    Bass
    Percussion
    Piano/Keyboards
    Sax Tenor/Alto/other
    Trumpet
    Violin
    Cello
    Flute
    Harmonica
    Other

My thoughts exactly re the part I'd play.Grin

You realise, of course, Carrie just married Mike Fisher, and he's as hard-nosed a hockey player as ever played the game.Wink

    John Bonham - drums
John Paul Jones - bass, keyboards
    Robert Plant - vocals
    Jimmy Page - guitar

The band would have a flexible approach in musical styles, encompassing musical flavours from folk to eastern and blues to rock. I would name the band The Vegetables or perhaps The Potatoes.

I would be their manager for my 20% cut.

I know this isn't really answering the question but...

    Quote: John Bonham - drums
John Paul Jones - bass, keyboards
    Robert Plant - vocals
    Jimmy Page - guitar

    or...

    Vocals: Peter Gabriel
    Keyboards: Tony Banks
    Guitar: Steve Hackett
    Bass: Mike Rutherford
    Drums: Phil Collins

To add in a variation (and potentially hijack the thread), a discussion I have had many times is based around those that have 'passed on' ie. Gods own rockband. I'd go for...

    Vocals: Freddie Mercury
    Lead Guitar: Jimi Hendrix
    Rhythm Guitar: John Lennon
    Bass Guitar: Phil Lynott
    Drums: John Bonham

Plenty of decent backing vocals there too.

    Or :

    Voice : Bono
    Guitar : The Edge
    Drums : Larry Mullen Jr
    Bass : Adam Clayton

    Singer/s Male/Female - Stevie Wonder
    Lead Guitar - Jonny Greenwood
    Drums - phil selway
    Bass - Paul McCartney
Percussion - ???? That bongo player out of M-People called "Shovell", on the basis that he's the only one I know the name of!
Piano/Keyboards - Ade Wilson (may as well be in the band if it's a fantasy)

to be honest, I never really know who plays in bands

I'm in one and I know them Wink

they're always on about these legendary bass and drummers... who cares? It's the man up front that counts (and the keyboard players)

    Steve Wilson - vocals
    Skye - Backing vocals
    Terje Rypdal - Guitar
    Mick Karn - Bass
    Florian Fricke - Piano
    Christopher Franke - Drums
    Craig Armstrong - String arrangements
    Ravi Shankar - Sitar
Brian Eno - synth and production

    Ian Gillan - Vocals
Joe Satriani, Steve Vai - Guitars (oh the duels......)
    Flea - Bass
John Bonham - Drums (maybe Alex Van Halen if we couldn't reincarnate Bonham)
John Lord and Rick Wakeman on keys and synths

I'd call them 'Stone Deaf in Ten Seconds Flat'Wink

And if I remember correctly I did a similar thread about six years ago. It would be interesting to compare them. Smile

    David Bowie Saxophone

Good suggestions, Malcolm, but I'd narrow it down a bit more:

    Eric Clapton - guitar
    Jack Bruce - bass
    Ginger Baker - drums

That would be my alternative fantasy band: just a trio, with no money being wasted paying a singer.
