One third of the way through and hopefully the new year will give me fresh impetus.
Yesterday I tried some water drops after work, they didn't turn out well, more like water drabs. Today I had more time and tried again. I have one or two images I think are ok and this is one of them. I did a little research on the web and was surprised to find that there a couple different methods to do the drops. One method avocated a dark room, a long shutter exposure and manually firing the flash with your finger at the appropriate time. The one I went with was a short exposure time and firing the camera off of a remote release with the flash attached via a flash cord. Low tech with the ater in a bag and hanging over the glass dish. The biggest influence on the drops that I foun=und was not so much the height of the fall, but of the amount of water in the bowl. Shallower water = better splash.
I was also surprised to learn of the kits you could buy to assist in the taking of the pictures, that ain't cheap!
Anyway here's the pic and I added some food colouring to the water for effect.
