For a long time I have favoured in front of the american air museum, partly due to proximity to the nappy changing facilities it provided and partly because you get a good view as they taxi back (wind direction permitting) from the land warfare end.
I tried just to the left of the control tower for the last show of last year and it was fine, but the taxi back shots were less appealing and I did not find it gave any vastly improved views of the aircraft whilst displaying.
Some people think the small rise outside the land warfare museum is a good location, but I have not tried it myself. May do tomorrow though.
Unfortunately the sun position is not ideal from any part of the flight line, but then we may not see that tomorrow anyway!
Clacton Airshow, 26th/27th August.
Along seafront.
Photo locations:
Top of cliffs West of pier, best with lens >300mm.
End of pier (free entry) 300mm quite adequate for most aircraft.
On lower West prom/beach, but can be crowded + beware sand in camera if windy. ![]()
more here-
Will probably be the last airshow, due to Council funding cuts![]()
