Out this morning...the starlings were having a feeding frenzy on the high tide. Would be interested in your reactions to these two variations...basically converted in LR...adjusted tone sliders..and then played around with the colour tones. V1 used a `Big Sky - Strong' preset...V2 I merely increased the blue range to blank out any of the clouds in the sky. Have also uploaded the raw file in case you want a pop at it Smile

Great image it shows the movement really well for me I prefer the 2nd variation with the highkey process as this puts the almost sillouetted starlings against a white background. With so much movement I think you could even crop the shot to remove the beach area and the empty sky at the top leaving the birds with just the pier in the background, but this would be for personal taste and nothing more. Great shot. Smile

I'm jealous all I've been looking at for the last 2 days is rain ..... Sad

thanks, Eric...I tried various crops. V2 is probably my favourite too...and I like the idea of cropping the sky and perhaps the beach..might upload another version Smile

yes, Eric...like the mod...I've uploaded another version cropping the sky, but felt the beach was need to anchor the shot. Widened the frame slightly too Smile

A good capture of movement, an image with life. The swirling birds and choppy sea are a good combination. I prefer the wider crop for my taste.
I have modded my 2pennyworth. I converted the colour version using camera raw then PS B&W tools with a tweak in curves and some dodge & burn. It's good to see various takes on the same image by different people, very informative and useful.
