Given a Hi-Contrast preset in LR...then increased contrast a little more, whilst tweaking the tonal range. Found it a little difficult to get the whites above the canopy balanced due to the heavy shadowing below.

Here`s my version.
Imported the colour image into lightroom and converted to mono, increased presence, lightened shadows a tad and straightened a bit.
I have cropped to include more space around the buses, darkened the foreground and added a slight vignette.
