Hi Phil,
It's a good shot mate,
For me though I'm not a big fan of these small bird shots on a white coloured background. I think the contrast between the head and the background can be a little too much and can be unflattering.
I find a greyer background that also signifies a snowy seen can work well and show the bird off better. Though this is only my opinion mate Smile

Also agree about the top left of the frame and a slight adjustment of camera if possible would of removed the dark tones across the top of the frame.

Like the birds pose and catch light in the eye, comp works for me, the perch is good though not the best it could be, and if was squarer to camera would retain more detail.

To be fair mate, these are nit picky points and the shot is good, hope you take the crit as intended, as minor nits Grin

Cheers,
Lee

A couple of things straight off if it were mine. I'd be tempted to even out the tone of the top left hand corner, and believe me after the recent water drops with vignette I know a bit about this. Secondly I wonder what it looks like with the loop under the tail cloned out. Only suggest this because it draws the eye and you sort of miss viewing the tail.

detail is fine and the perch nicely done .. its a touch tight in the frame for me with the eye almost central .NP with the BG and the subject .
