The recent afternoon good weather (two afternoons on the trot - LOL) has inspired me to undertake a spring Sunday afternoon visit to Roche Abbey. The abbey grounds are really well kept as can be seen in my portfolio and definitely worth a visit at this time of the year. After doing the rounds around the grounds I intend to drive out in search of one of the lone trees standing in the surrounding fields which are now full of golden rape seed. They make good contrasting subjects - think I might have found another
The abbey grounds are now open to visitors for a small fee - English Heritage members get in free of charge. I intend to be parked up either in the parking area at the bottom of the road down to the valley, or alternatively in the abbey house car park positioned at the end of a short walk extending beyond the main wooden gate.
I hope to be there at 2pm with the intention of moving on to the fields at around 6pm. If anyone is interested in meeting up then the map below should help, look forward to seeing you there...
