There are of course loads of other accomodation options nearby - please use the meeting thread to liase with other interested folk (linked to below) if you'd still like to come along. The more the merrier Smile

Here's a link to the relevant thread (well, some of it is relevant)...

And for those of you who are down with da kidz, here's the Facebook page;

And here's alink to the cottage owner's (my mum and dad!) website

cosy cottages on Skye

It's limited to 17 people over three cottages in the tiny village of Struan on Skye. It's pretty remote and there isn't much in the way of local facilities. The cottages themselves are very cosy - each has its own woodburning stove and supply of wood.

EDIT: I'm told that the local shop has reopened and sells very basic supplies (eggs, bread, milk and papers). The nearest supermarket is in Portree but if you want to stock up on the way, there is a large Co-op in Broadford which is on the way.

Warm / waterproof clothing is a very good idea - it can and does get very cold and wild up there in October...

ToothHI Cole,

From what I can work out, if you upload a pic directly from the group page it shows in the group page - ie mine's and Pete's.

However, if you upload a photo in the gallery and link it to the meet page it shows up in another meet page - look at the diffeent URL's..

So meet has a group page and a meet page depending on where you access it from.

I've started another thread and even a new virtual meet here, hopefully to get a few answers.

Maybe showing my age, but as they used to say a

Coleslawhmmm.... I didn't know I have joined the grumpy old men meeting page.....Smile

Well, I can only see 2 photos on this meeting page. One of Tooth, and one of Goggz. I and others have tagged/linked our uploads to the Skye Meet. But they are nowhere to be seen in the meeting page.

ToothI too am totally P***ed off with this when is a meet not a meet thing. It's not to do with the recent jiggling around glitches either. Every time I open the meety page I seem to see something different. Sometimes I see photographs, sometimes I don't. I feel the start of a big long thread brewing hope you'll join me Smile

digicammadRight, a little progress. I submitted a report about not being able to comment on photos when I get to them via the group page. That seems to have been sorted out now, but I've also discovered (everybody else probably already knew) that gallery and group comments are held separately.

I have posted my pics via the Photos -> Upload, as opposed to via the group or my profile. I can see my photos in there and in the gallery so I don't know if that route works better than the others.
