Yup.. gotta agree with Jester, but it is still going to need the team to provide a modify button for non-E2 members though. I tried by putting a link from a dummy image in the main gallery, but it's all extra effort that could be so simple like Monday's challenge.
Geoff
Sorry folks. I've just found the thread in the forums and I don't even know how.
That made me go to my pf. and click on "My groups" which brought me here.
If this is going to have a chance of working, it's got to be put in the main gallery somehow.
Jester.
Looks like it was UrdyGurdy last week - who presumably isn't around. Apologies for not making an appearance this weekend - I'm trying very hard to wrap my head round some mortgage documents that have to be signed and sent off tomorrow - a huge PIA but has to be done....
Quote: perhaps groups is not the right place??
The problem with these groups is, and always has been, that no-one knows where they are or how to find them.
Once you've joined one, you get a link on your pf., or at least I have so I suppose everyone does but without that, or a very prominent link somewhere else, I'd have no idea how to get to them.
Which means I don't realise that I've missed something or that I can't easily find it and therefore don't bother.
Jester.
Quote: totally confused by all of this.....
took my friggin ages to find.... its just pushing challenges underground
Ill stick with the mnc
I uploaded a dummy image into the main gallery to give a link to the group, so far it has 35 unique views and my first image to start the challenge has 12 ....... perhaps groups is not the right place??
Geoff
Oh my word! It wasn't supposed to win! Thanks Geoff, I'm gobsmacked and chuffed. Hope to see you all again next Sunday. Bring a friend, spread the word.
Again, thanks Geoff.
Paul
Commendations for all !! Good imagination
The results:
3rd Janeez - Marmite and Chocolate (def opposites for me
)
2nd Sandgrouse - Light and Dark (well exposed macro)
1st Housemartin - Float in a Sink ( groan worthy humour)
Over to you Paul next week
Geoff

Maybe this Sunday night challenge isn't quite working as expected........
Sorry folks,
I didn't make it as I was wrapped up with another site.
However, when I did look around on here earlier, I never thought about it, didn't look at the groups so I missed it completely.
Was it promoted anywhere other than the groups? If it was I missed it. (Apologies if it was and I did overlook it.)
Jester.
Yep agree, good one to kick it off. And well done Alison.
Paul
Well done Cattyal,well done Strobe.
Thanks for the challenge theme Crooky.
SP.
Thanks for some very imaginative entries, well done everyone. Not an easy decision but here are the results.
3rd - Strobe with 23 - A duck in a tree. Made me laugh, would never have thought of that!
2nd - Shea_Pendragon with 18. Super lighting
1st - Cattyal with 47 - Stairway to heaven. Beautifully lit and composed.
Over to you for next week, Alison, look forward to being able to join in the fun!
Thanks everyone, not a bad turnout for a first night! Back soon with the results.
Tonight's theme is Bingo Numbers - I've started you off with Number 1 - Kelly's Eye. Lots of numbers to choose from so off you go, upload your pics on the left.
As I said in one of the other threads re. the MNC, I find it hard to take part for al the reasons that everyone else has listed but this timeslot might be more accesible so I'm in, or at least, I'll give it a go.
The biggest problem with it becoming a group though might be getting people to know about it.
How about if someone posts an image (or three), with "Sunday Night Challenge" written all over it, in the main gallery on Saturday at various times with a link directly to the group? That would get the attention of those members that don't use the forums or the group features.
Just a thought.
Jester.
And all the stuff you can do in groups is tabbed to the left :
* Home
* Members
* Comments
* Photos
* Forums
* Calendar
These are individual areas for groups so the photos tab shows photos uploaded to the group, forums shows forum threads started in this group etc.
As you're new to groups I'll try and help a bit. You can use this area to make comments about the group to the group. It won't show anywhere else.
If you create a group forum topic it will appear in the main site forum. This has been done to ensure the group has chance to gain extra exposure, but is easy to find as it's contained within the group you post in.
Use this comment area to have discussions about mechanics of the group etc. There's no subdivision/topics or anything it just runs one post after another like a message board.
Use the main group forum to announce new competitions, create new threads about idea etc.
