An unusual piece of behaviour superbly recorded on camera
Thanks to everyone who has voted or commented on this series of wildlife. Having checked with the British Wildlife Centre they confirm that the antlers do provide calcium for the squirrels especially when they have kittens. They are also serve to keep there teeth down. Pieces of antler are also placed in the mice and vole enclosures for the same reasons.
Ken.
