Right!! There's not much grumpiness going on here just lately and that made me feel quite grumpy, also i was sixty five the other day and that made me feel even grumpier. I just cant believe I've turned SIXTY FIVE, YES, thats right MOI ,SIXTY FIVE. I wouldn't mind if I felt sixty five but i don't. Still, I suppose I'm entitled to be grumpy now. ![]()
Hi just the group for me will feel at home here fellow grumpies
Last Sunday, left lovely sunshine at home to photograph the sunset at Durdle Door. Grey, dull, miserable cloud after trudging down the steep and quite frankly, flippin' dangerous steps to the beach. Me and hubby looking hopefully out to sea for that glimmer of sun light that never happened. Today. Glorious sunshine and promising to be a fantastic sunset. Not on the Quantocks! Grey, dull, miserable cloud.................you know the rest! Maybe next time?
Ruddy computers!!
I have a number of desktop shortcuts to all the progs that I normally use.
To stop the desktop getting cluttered they are arranged in folders, one for graphics progs, one for audio, one for AVs and so on....
Just now I opened the graphics folder to start up PSP8, and was confronted with about 150 copies of old E-mails!!!
How the hell did they get there?? I've no idea!
So I had to delete them all to find all my shortcuts.
As I said, 'ruddy computers', they have a mind of their own.
Britains Hidden Heritage on BBC TV, I hadn't seen it before, so I decided to have a gander.
It started off OK with an interesting piece about Cragside and William Armstrong, but 5 mins into the piece we are whisked off to another presenter yakking on about prisons.
Oops! back to Cragside for 5 more mins then off we go to some bird wittering on about Jervais Abbey.
Whoa there! Back to Cragside.....
Nope! off to look at a submarine that sank umpteen years ago.
Wha hey! were back to Cragside again to finish.
Why the ruddy hell do they do it?
I won't be watching that program again!
Do they think that we all have the attention span of mentally retarded limpet?
Major GRUMP today....
Britain has a rich heritage of famous explorers scientists, engineers, doctors, odd-balls, eccentrics... you name it!!
So what do the Post Office put on the latest stamps?????????????????
RUDDY "%&$$@*&£@@' HARRY POTTER, more cash for J K Rowlings no doubt! ![]()
We British have finally lost the plot completely! ![]()

Slightly more grumpy - trying to clean the sensor with just the Arctic Buttefly and all I seem to be doing is shifting the stuff about. Trouble is I can see nothing on the sensor even wearing my reading specs
I wonder if anyone locally does sensor cleaning - no point in my trying to do it if I can't see what I'm doing ![]()
Really grumpy. Was out taking shots of foxgloves when a butterfly landed on nearby flowers. Got a few shots then butterfly took off only to land on my shoulder. How do you take a shot of your right shoulder when you are right handed?![]()

Mildly grumpy - been to town, picked up photo mounts - good. Got home, made coffee - realised I should have picked up some milk as I've not enough to last the weekend
Ah well - good excuse to buy more strawberries!
no one grumpy since my last post on the 1st !!
Well I am again having read and answered posts about how much a photographer should charge for a shoot and another asking should he ask the bride to remouve her glasses on a wedding shoot, when will they realise that some (not me I'm retired) are desperate for this work and they depreciating the whole buisness, Ban digital I say and make them learn about photography.
Well it is Monday morning, Can't understand why that makes a difference as I'm retired but it does .
Grumpily yours
Phill
I was very grumpy this morning as my old epson r1800 finally sucumbed to being taken apart for head cleaning for about the 10th time! but then suddenly I cheered up when I gratefully recieved a PM from EPZ telling me I had won a compact flash card in a draw so not quite so grumpy now.
Phill
Just had a letter from my pension supplier to fill in a form to confirm that I am still alive. And having done that, I must then get someone else to fill in their details, and confirm the same thing. But they have not got to be a relative, nor live in the same house, and they have to be eligible to vote. I do not know what this bloody country is coming to.
Guilty Adrian!
Since I photograph quite a lot of flowers and birds and don't know what nearly all of of them are, I usually go down the "ID please" route.
I've now gone to the bother of buying (from a charity shop) a book on identifying British garden birds!
But what I hate even more than your pet hate is thumbnails entitled * or ~ ! I never, ever open one.
If you can't think of a title that at least somehow relates to your image, then the image probably isn't worth looking at!
Bren.
Nobody grumping about anything??
OK I'll start off with one of my (many) pet hates.
People who photograph garden flowers and title them things like "Red flower"!!
Or a bird on a feeding table entitled " pretty bird"!!!
How hard is it to do a little bit of research & find out what the species is? No need to go for the full latin name but "Yellow Dahlia" or "Blue tit feeding" would be enough.
GRRRRR!
Quote: We should have had a group like this years ago. Of course things were different then & we didn't need it.

And nostalgia's not what it was, either.
