Good morning all. Apologies for not posting the new challenge last night but I was totally engrossed in the Olympic closing ceremony. I’m sorry it’s all over – what a fantastic games for GB & NI athletes.
However, back to business. This week’s challenge is ORNAMENTAL so you have a wide range of subjects. Anything cosmetic or decorative, could even be an ornamental plant.
Get those macro lenses attached and give it a go – the more entries the better.
The Rules are as follows:
1. The challenge is just for fun.
2. All images must be taken after the theme is announced.
3. All images must be uploaded by 8 pm on Sunday 19th August in the Weekly Macro Challenge group photo area.
4. Only one upload per member.
5. Please feel free to comment on the entries once judging is complete.
6. The person who hosts is the judge for that week challenge and the judge’s decision is final.
7. The winner gets to create, run and judge the challenge for the following week.
8. Have fun
Regards, Stuart
One of the regular contributors to this group, Jade, has started the group 'The Corn Exchange.' This is for photos that may raise a smile, or even a laugh. So if you have any photos that may amuse because of their content and/or caption, please upload them . Past pictures very welcome.
Firstly can I thank you all for your fantastic entries this week. I have found it very difficult to judge because of the very high standard you have all achieved.
As is regularly said though, there can only be one winner and this week, for esoteric and photographic reasons it is JawDborn with his Buddhist Monk. It is well lit with good DOF and the subject has a captivating expression that kept me coming back to it.
So well done Jack and over to you for the next challenge
Regards,
Stuart
Congratulations Jack - fab shot, looking forward to your challenge next week.
Thanks for hosting Stuart.
Cheers
Elaine
Gosh, Stuart. Thank you, and thank you for hosting. Thank you also Elaine and
Jade for your kind comments.
My first words on learning I'd won the challenge wre " Oh bug**ry, I've got to think of a challenge now."
As we're halfway through consuming a bottle of red wine for the sake of our health, I'll make the next challenge RED. Any macro image where the predominant colour is RED. Hope this will give plenty of scope for varied entries. And don't forget to look at Jade's new group "The Corn Exchange."
We'd love to have some contributions from you!
Regards to all,
Jack
