The steps up to a 10 metre diving platform at a local fjord. Wanted to give the impression of it being a hell of a long way up to the top. Here is the bigger picture of the location.

+ bold angle
+ makes it look a LONG LONG way up to the 10 meter board!
+ foreign language on the sign tells us its over-seas, adds to the story
- texture on the steps looks like over-sharpening, it's a bit strange looking
- sky is a bit odd - really black at the bottom left yet virtually featureless over the rest of the shot
- craving the inclusion of a person to give sense of scale
Cheers Ade. I am not happy with the steps, but it looked better after I was finished with it in ps than after uploading. Seems to have changed somehow (only the steps)(scratches head).
As for the sky, 'twas grey, and flat with only a hint of shape...should have enabled mods, so you could have had a go at it, or the original.

I think sharpening something that textured can give strange results... maybe use a mask to block the sharpening off the steps ?
doesnt' seem to fit does it - the rest has sharpened well.. .
Good thought, Batman...I'll have a play with it, as you say, the rest is not bad![]()
+Nice and bold
+Good blacks and whites
+ Nice detail in the steps
- Looks over sharpened
- Needs a figure to add a sense of scale
- Maybe a little too much dodging and burning making the clouds look grainy(bottom left)
