Well, this week is a challenge, and the chance to play around trying some new things.

Trying to remember what I did here: Used the bleach bypass filter in Lightroom, modified the colour a bit in PS3, then ran it through Pixlr filters metal and grunge frame.

Got to admit this is something pretty new for me........

+ Wonderfully atmospheric
+ Love the lighting effect
+ Great composition and focus/dof

"Loverly" - I like this a lot in addition to the three +'s above I like the grunge type background and the vignette/border which I feel suit the subject perfectly. I think the bokeh effect on the left is just enough and adds to the overall image. I hope to make images like this in the future - still learning!

- difficult to find negatives as this is the type of image I like, and it's very well done.

+ Like the overall ambience and calmness of this picture.
+ Like the Bleach Filter effect.
+ like the Grunge frame, think it works well with this shot.

- Because I think it works so well, I might have gone for the less is more approach, removing all the out of focus, tad too bright seeds and stems on the left, thus leaving the main 6 or 7 seeds with stems, to make a more powerful image
- Don't like the bright Orbs.
- Think I might have removed the 2 grey blobs generated by the filter top and bottom, they are just a bit too near the Grunge frame.

Lensbaby users live for orbs Tongue
Will however try for a crop - do you have any idea how much work this will entail Wink
Blobs could be cloned out - I'm new at these filters and kinda liked the grunge, but it might just get "old" with time.

Thanks

Anne

Thank you kindly for your positive critique - I sometimes have a hard time coming up with negatives on some images.

Glad you like this!

Anne...have uploaded a modification, unfortunately I lost a bit of detail to the border on LHS, see what you think.

Good morning Doug! Thank you so much for the time you spent on the modification. This is another element of critique I really appreciate - being able to demonstrate what one is verbally communicating.

It is a totally different take on my image, and I do like it. I must however, defend my lensbaby Smile It is those orbs that lensbaby users so desire, and also crazy spectral highlights. It is an acquired taste, I know, for so many don't care for the lens. Then there are converts - and I have recently seen two more EPZ'ers get a lensbaby, one actually bought one because she liked my images with it.

I wish I could lend you my "baby" for a week or two and let you get addicted too Smile

Thanks again, and always feel free to modify. It's a great tool Smile
