was this beauty, on the roadside.
So I just had to stop for this lovely lotus, growing in the ditch near a palm plantation.
V2 is a rather large hopper, admiring a budding lotus as much as I do.
many thanks for your kind clicks and votes on the Brahminy kite
What an unusual flower
A wonderful find Annette - v1 is definitely my favourite
Both excellent Annette but V1 is stunning.
fine captures V1 wins hands down
Two unique photos Annette - something I have never seen ! That flower is magnificent and the leaf on which the hopper sits is stunning in its own right
What a gorgeous flower, Annette, one I've never seen but would love to. A very pleasing grasshopper, too, nicely marked and well captured. Carol
A stunning flower wonderfully captured, whilst the rather strange looking creature fascinates me.
A lovely duo of exotic shots Annette. Brilliant. Don
Very exotic! I do like the lotus pods once the flowers have gone.
Beautiful and well presented.
Two fantastic images, Annette and so well displayed!
Two great shots Annette. Fantastic finds! I'm drooling over that beautiful and unusual flower! It wins hands down against the prettily marked 'hopper.
Magnificent, and beautifully presented as well.
Both great images but of course V1 is so very beautiful, there never was any doubt as to my favourite! How wonderful to find in a canal. Over here it would most likely be a discarded supermarket trolly!
V1 is beautiful Annette, lovely colour and presentation.
Two nice images - Flower colour is super!
Two excellent captures, Annette: love that unusual bloom at V 1......beautiful soft lighting and very fine detail and textures in the petals.
And a fine macro shot of the 'hopper'.
the stunning v1 for me today annette top shot
Pleased to be 30 for these exotic beauties.
Both deserve to be standalone images. Impressive photography.
V2 would not show-- but v1 is masterful-- tremndously fine light --so very beautiful!
A wonderful coloured beastie in V2
What a beauty, so glad you stopped, that centre is amazing.
Very nice light, wonderful colors and perfect comp., Annette. I like your image border as well.
Both fantastic Annette - keep them coming
A very different plant to the usual.
Good close up of the hopper and wonderful image of the lotus flower.
Very sharp and that centre is like a miniature watering can.
Nice images. V1 for me.
Ohhh...now that's a great shot of that beautiful lotus (I LOVE loti and have always found them very photogenic too), Annette. Good capture of that large grasshopper too. I haven't seen one in ages. We used to get 'em every now and then when I was a kid. We always called 'em locusts 'cos of their size. I just Googled 'locust' and found out that it's a swarming phase of a type of grasshopper! You've made me learn something new
A couple of good captures.
Lovely shots Annette. These are quite abundant over there but are taken for granted by non-photographers. I agree with the others that flowers are very photogenic.
Really enjoying your adventure. Sylvia
Beauty and the beast from you tonight Annette, V1 is simply stunning
