The glistening Mt Kanchenjunga

Nestled among the rolling mountains with the glistening Mt Kanchenjunga towering over the azure sky, Darjeeling fondly called "Queen of the Hills", provides a perfect gateway for those seeking to be in harmony with nature. Darjeeling is in West Bengal in India, situated at a height of 2134 m or 7000ft above sea level.

This is the third highest mountain in the world, with an elevation of 8,586 m (28,169 ft) and located along the India-Nepal border in the Himalayas. Kangchenjunga is also the name of the surrounding section of the Himalayas and means "The Five Treasures of Snows", as it contains five peaks, four of them over 8,450 m (27,720 ft) .. The views are from my hotel room balcony ..

In this photo I used a long lens to capture the first rays of the Sun as the snow capped mountain turned golden in colour.
