Venetian Waterways

No, not in Venice, but Great Yarmouth! Wink Adjacent to the North Beach are located these beautiful gardens, the Venetian Waterways. There is also a boating lake beyond the northern end, and together they known just as the Waterways. The Venetian Waterways section extends for about 500 metres in length and features a series of waterways set within walkways, rock gardens, and ornamental bridges which link to a central island - the perfect place to explore on a sunny day. They were constructed between January and June 1928, and opened to the public on 2nd August 1928.

Single Raw images processed in Adobe Camera Raw 7, tweaked in Photomatix Pro 4 and Photoshop Elements 11.

Thanks again to everyone for your votes & comments on my previous uploads, it really is appreciated and encouraging.

What beautiful waterways, Trev, and no doubt a lot cleaner than the water in Venice Wink Four excellent captures. Carol

We missed all this on our single visit to G Y; I think we'd better go back!
An agreeable mix of views. I'm sure there is scope for b&w graphics in there somewhere but I can't quite work out where.
Regards
Bill

A wonderful set of images, each on has been very well observed, composed, captured processed and presented superbly. However it is number four which for me is the stronger both compositionally and its appeal.

The water looks very high. I wonder if it overflows the banks.
A rather lovely, gentle walk.

Thankyou Trev! You have brought so many memories flooding back GrinGrinGrinGrin...... The last time I went there I was three years old, but I remember it soooo well (I am sure the holiday photo's help my memory) but "The Waterways" are what I most remember about Great Yarmouth....... see the pillar stood alone in the garden? I have two photographs of me sat on a pillar just like that, aged three. One of them my face is a picture as my Mum had stood out of shot while I had my pic took, and I was petrified of falling offSadBlush
And the benches and bridges, family photo's on those too GrinGrinGrinGrin
Lovely to see its all still there! Thankyou so muchSmileSmileSmile

Hi Trev, it's a while since I've been along the front at Gt. Yarmouth, you have made a good job of the Waterways, nice quite Venice... love the blue sky.
