This is NOT a lamp on a post, the snow is only around 1 foot deep with some drifting. The feeder was un-hooked and dropped by a crafty squirrel, later set upon a stonewall to be repaired.
That was one smart squirrel. He helped you make a good winter shot though.
Yes, I agree with Sandy -- a VERY smart squirrel.
You are really getting pelted with the snow this year. I just went out to a webcam in Buffalo, NY and saw the snow still pilling up with a temp today of 23 degrees F. (-5C).
Theres nothing quite like a smart Squirrel...
Well spotted this one Jenn.
And here was me thinking you had had about 10 feet of snow: yes, a very crafty wee squirrel that occasioned this shot, Jenn.
Good shot, I really thought that it was very deep snow. We haven't had much snow here, but the torrential rain and 100mph gales, bringing all of their problems, have been horrendous.
So the bright and calm day was very welcome.
A playful squirrel and a nice shot, Jenn.
Great comp of this everyday subject
This says it all about winter and crafty squirrels!
Squirrels always find a way - as you do Jenn when you get such excellent images.
Love your snow shots Jenn, wish we got snow instead of all the rain, it's just the Pitts.
Well spotter Brrrrrrrrrr
Looks like the squirrels at your end are much the same as the squirrels here Jennnn- mischievious little rascals.!!!!!
The snow covered feeder has taken on an animal shape.
You just needed a red berry for the eye!
Cleverly spotted and captured. An excellent image!!
Those squirrels can really mess up a feeder! Makes an interesting photo, though.
Loving your snow images Jenn, another great shot
Bet the squirrel didnt go in after it!
Great image describes a winter story extremely well.
"the snow is only around 1 foot deep" That description in your write up had me laughing because where I live that amount of snow would be considered a blizzard! We received 13" of snow one time back in 1981 that broke all records and shut everything down until it melted away 24 hours later.
Wonderful image and presentation, Jenn!
I recognise the feeling, we have a little bit more
You have retained the whites in the snow very well Jenn
All that snow...great shot Jennn
Cheeky squirrel but great shot Jenn. Cathy
No snow here Jenn - today it was downright springlike. Looks like you all have your share of it though.
I thought a snow covered Solar garden light
Nice light and composition Jenn. 1 foot of snow is quite enough.
Beautifully captured Jenn. Glad it's not a lamppost
Simple and very effective
Makes for a surpsingly engaging shot Jenn - kept finding myself looking at it again
Excellent mystery shot! It fooled me outright.
That pesky squirrel has spoiled it for those poor birds! You certainly have had some snow, we've escaped it this year, but we've had our wettest winter since records began though!
