Glad you like my late critter... the ragged butterfly has to do for a while.. but tomorrow we'll be out with the Land Rover and I hope to get some silly Sunday shots.Still trying to make up my mind what to replace my 70-300 with, it is sold and I 'm drawn bewenn the push-pull 80-200 2.8 and a Tokina 70-210 2.8.
Here is an antique parking meter, we couldn't figure out how it worked but the lines in the rust certainly mean something to an archaeologist. Or I could just ask Mick B.

Well, the icon at the bottom of the straight section looks like the trash can icon on my PC. So, maybe that says something about what happens to those who park too long.
You obviously choose the number one exposure mode. When it comes to choosing the correct modem I'm all thumbs.

Like the detail captured here Annette, especially the engraving, a nice rusty capture,
Fred.
Jenn is right of course but this one is really old and I think goes well with her horseshoes ![]()
Annette, very nice work here, super detail and lighting........I think this one shows off your skill with the camera. It has detail tone and lighting all in one, and for that requires a UA.........
Paul.
serves well for the grott brigade and the shadow Saturday crowd

This is a sun-operated parking meter, Annette. Each hole on the shaft represents one hour. You put your parking peg in the hole according to many hours parking you want, and when the shadow caused by the sun reaches your hole, your time is up.
I know this theory has many flaws, but I am feeling silly a day too early.![]()

Great title, an interesting subject, and a nice find, Annette.
It's an antique metal hitching post, or a horse tie hitching post ring, and I found one similar to yours here.
Some of the explanations are rather amusing Annette, a great find indeed
