I have taken this similar view a couple of times before and uploaded to here . I know everybody and his dog takes this but it really has to be done as it is such an iconic view of Whitby and each take on it becomes diferent so no apologies really. This is recent taken just last Saturday evening around 8. p.m .There were 2 other photographers lower down so I had to wait for them to leave. By the time I had finished it was pretty dark getting back to where I had parked near to the Abbey . A spooky place to be alone at night . Many thanks for recent clicks and comments . All much appreciated....Phil

What wonderful colours, Phil, this is super - taken at just the right time of day Smile As you say, you can photograph the same scene many times, and it will be different each time, and I think this has to rate amongst one of the best of this scene Smile Can't wait to return here, will have to be around mid-June, I think, and it will be good to meet up again Wink

One of my favourite places in the world, good old Tate Hill, Whitby. This is an extremely good capture and would love to have something as good as this in my portfolio. Excellent composition and lighting.

You've never been to Whitby, Sue that is really bad, it's a superb place to visit and a good base to explore the North Yorkshire area (Scarborough, Heartbeat Country (Goathland), Pickering, York, Robin Hood's Bay, NY Moors, Staithes...). You really should make the effort this year. This picture really says it all.

Andrew.
