Yes .... If you happen to be in Greenwich on a Tuesday at 14.00.. then you can visit the Fan Museum for FREE if you are a pensioner
Its not much shakes for photographs ...
But a charming house with lots of interesting info.
And the coffee in the orangery pretty good.
We were there at the right time but to be honest I would have paid to see all those amazing fans
My favourite fan had sewing kit ... and cheek rouge hidden in its ribs
A sincere thankyou to Graham.Sylvia,Trev. and Richard for their user awards for my experimenting with flash...
Really made a bad day turn into a rather happy one ....Thankyou!!!!

Great colours and composition
How very beautiful! And a museum that allows photography... ![]()
I spurned the Quilt Museum in York because they don't allow it. I wasn't going to pay £5 to go in and then not be able to take any pictures at all even of the building!

Hail girl
It is amazing how much work and love one puts into making fans. All those fine and artful ornament and brush strokes. That is passion pure I think.
Gosh, I haven’t been in London for a long time, I might check this out myself.
Great little find here.
You didn’t let this particular fan slip into your handbag when no one was watching by any chance? ![]()
Nice one girl!

That's the trouble with taking early retirement.... I'm on a pension but not a pensioner!! No free entry! I shall just have to enjoy images like thius, Barbara.
Dave
You all deed to come to Wales Barbara, all museums are free to any age group, love the colours and can see about four different crops in this that would work.
Regards
Trev.

I only wish I knew what this meant, dear lady.![]()
Fans should be used in exotic dances, I am led to understand...either that or cheering on their favourite rugby or football team.

I have a bit of a thing about fans, so if I happen to be in Greenwich on a Tuesday at 14.00 I will look this up. Lovely old fan nicely captured.
