Well, I put this into landscape/travel category, however it only kind of belongs to this category. This photo was my final round submission in the 2008 POTY competition in the UK magazine Practical Photography. The task was to interpret a film, book or album/song. This image was an interpretation of the film "Ofelas", better known as "Pathfinder" (directed by Nils Gaup, Norway). It's about the terrifying Russian-"chudes" that were travelling around in the north and killing innocent native people some thousand years ago. The blue harsh bright light in the middle of the night represents the chudes who are on their way hunting for their next victims. The warm light of the lavvo represents the calm and good life of the samis who don't know that danger is just around the next hill.. If you are not familiar with this movie, you should do some Googling. This film will take you into the beautiful landscapes of North Norway and it will give you the chills as well..one of the greatest successes in Norwegian film history so far. Make sure that you don't mix this film with the American version. Thanks for any input! Cheers, Oistein
