Looks like a painting, how did you do the effect? K.
wow thanks for the great remarks .... ok was a pic i took yesterday of me friend why she was in studio... i added softner in psp and brightness in picture it and added a small frame apart from that i didnt do much to pic.....i did think about making it black and white but liked the colour so left it as it was
was just lucky the man doing the photo shoot gave me some great tips on new camera .. and taking the pic form the side gave me a better efect than straight on.... ![]()
OK thanks, so this softner in psp - it creates the effect of a painting then?
yep i know alot on this use adolby but i always been a big fan on paint shop pro 8 is better than 7 but i know 9 is also out now just not got round to getting it yet .... nice efect if u want to soffen a pic
also pictur it a great small program if u like playing thats a free program from microsoft
hope this helps
Thanks just did a search on the web and cant find the filter that you mention, where do you go in PSP to get this? Sorry to ask so many questions but the effect is brilliant.
Thats why I ask Paul, the two programmes are similar and anything PSP can do I'm sure there is something equivelent in Adobe PS.
answersonapostcard ok if u have psp 7 or 8 have a look at this link http://www.sandyncandy.com/bpsp.html the efect i used was in Visman there all plugins for psp u need to download them and put them in the psp folder if u have any probs in installing them email me and im sure i got a tortorial on how to add them u also need to add the MSVCRT10.dll Plugin.dll or most the plug ins wont work send me a email if u have any probs and i try help u more emz
Thanks so much for all that, sorry to keep asking but its such a great effect ![]()
answersonapostcard thats ok your very welcome
i been a big fan off psp for about 8 years now going right back to psp 1 ... there a lot of plug ins for program so many under rate it but if u prepared to take the time to add the plug ins and play u can get some great finishes
Good effect, it works very well,
... even though i can get these filters loaded into PS CS , I cannot get an effect anywhere near yours, you are an image editing genius ....is there something your not telling us all, dont be shy , LOL
Mike
Although I think this is a lovely image I still can't see how you can get this effect in photoshop from a photograph even with filters. If I'm wrong perhaps you could do a tutorial because I can't get those filters to do this effect and the filters work the same in PS-CS as they do in PSP.
Excellent! Great composition and superb bit of Photoshop magic.
Tony (Happyostrich) I can recommend Gimp, I have been using version 2 on a Mac for some months and for a free package it has a great set of features. It can bee downloaded via gimp.org, or this month's Digital Photo Effects magazine has the Windows version on the cover CD.
I'd be utterly amazed if this is a real photo sorry.
Which of the visman filters did you use exactly, cos Ive tried most of them I think.
Please post the original as promised so I can be proved wrong.
Apart from the obvious artlike features, the lighting seems all wrong to me.
If however this is a real photo, then you have donew a fantastic art job on it, but I wait to be convinced sorry.
Jules
cant say any more than stunning i too have psp and love it although cant produce work like this what one of the visman filters did you use its a cracker, oh and thanks for letting us get the link to all those brill plugins us pspers dont get much call on here HUGE click stuart
Excellent lighting...wish i could do somethin' like this someday =)
Quote: Hello julesm well sorry i not been about for the past few weeks but i just had a good look at all u remarks on me pic ...... i had told people that asked what i used and even sent one a tortorial on how to get the efect ... now look if u gona leave silly remarks then maybe u shouldnt even bother to look at me pics ... coz i realy dont have time for negative silly remarks from the likes of u ![]()
Like I said, I'd love to be proved wrong ![]()
Ok, let me backtrack a little, and appologise for what you have actually taken as harrassment over this picture!
But Emma, please can you help me understand as you have with another member, just how you did this. I'd love to be able to produce such an effect. Is that too much to ask?
Regards
Julian
adrianj,
Just find a painting and photograph it, simple.
Or if youre really clever, take a stunning photograph and add some softness and light in psp ![]()
When that explanation doesnt wash, makeup an imaginary filter that supposedly did the work for you. Its simple when you know how.
Beware though, that the visman filters seem to trash the original photos, so be very careful what images you run them on.
Jules
Jules,
if you go to here then pick PSP classroom from the menu on the top and intermediate from the menu on the left there are a lot of tutorials that do seem to produce painterly effects that may (or may not) be what has been used here.
Hope that is of some use.
Chris
Great Picture,
Like the others on here i am amazed at how you managed to take a photo and turn it into such an amazing picture that looks like a painting.
The effect that the filter you have used has had on the models hair is really good its something i wouldnt of thought possible using either psp or elements.
It would be good if you could post some more photos on ephotozine using the same effect.
One question. You said that you took the photo from the side as the main photgrapher was talking photos from the front, however there is still a material backdrop in your photo, was this added later using psp or was the model completely surrounded with this blue backdrop?
Blimey, okay, now I see what all the fuss is about. A bunch of folks sent me your way, and I'm glad they did.
Hi Emmie, I'm with Jules on this one, call me an old cynic but I cant believe that this effect has been acheived by manipulating an ordinary photo of a girl.
Much more likely a photo of some artwork.
I'd love to be proved wrong.Show us the unmanipulated orginal photo( not of the artwork!)and i'll buy you e2 membership.
Please can I have 2 witnesses to enforce this offer.
Martin
