After a 6 hour trudge around long valley I was aout to get back to my car for a long awaited drink when I spotted this chap darting about. I noticed that he kept alighting on this stick so, remember this was the day I forgot my tripod, I tried to get my beathing stable and slow. The snipers amongst you will know the technique used.

Well I braced myself and waited, and waited, and waited. Eventually the little blighter obliged and I got the shot. Well several actually. I posted this one as the top wing allowed you a better view his top leg.

I hadn't realised they were so furry along the body. Anyway please enjoy and feel free to comment.
Paul

superb detail I know exactly what you mean about the breathing something I have difficulty with at times

A really good image. Catching it side on you've caught such detail from head to tail

Lovely shot. Like the light on this.

Super shot with great detail. Amazing for handheld with that 50-500 but then I saw the specs... ISO 1600, D3. Lucky you had that in the bag! Smile

Imagine how good this would have been if you had a proper camera (only kidding, I'd love to own one) A superb shot especially with the 50-500.
