My take on the Castle that needs no introduction, Eilean Donan. I have been all over Scotland at some point over the last 40 years but
had never been up the Glens to Skye. I cant realy describe in words the day we had, but as we drove through the night towards the glens my heart raced as I saw in the moonlight sky the dark forbiding outline of the mountains of Scotland. I had already decided not to do the tradtional shot from the other side of the castle.

One hour kip in camper van and sprung out to get going..........thought I had stepped off the face of the earth as the day went on.

Thanks to my brother Kev, for a very special day.........he drove all day, must have been over 12 hours of driving.

Hope you enjoy............

Paul.

A fantastic image Paul. I have been around Scotland myself in pre digital days and visited this Castle. The scenery in Scotland is breath taking

Have camper van, will travel! I'm jealous. And apart from a couple of 3 Peak trips to Ben Nevis I've not seen much of Scotland. A well composed image, Paul, and some lovely mist and tones.

The cool blue tones from the early morning light gives a great contrast with the seaweed in the foreground Paul, the rocks give a fine balance to the composition and this iconic Castle with the low mist in the background makes for another excellent photograph. Well worth the long drive and the early morning rise. Well done also to Kev for driving all night and day, just so you can come away with shots like this,LOL. Keep up the good work my friend, Bill.

You have presented a beautiful scenery, there is a very subtle naturalist mood in the composition that makes us wanto to look again and again. Well seen. IB

The position of this rock is the linchpin of this photo it adds depth and a focal point to the Castle, a wonderful light and the colours are out of this world, I can understand how you felt! Brilliant, superb, spot on, regards Leon.GrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrin
