Fragments of a B-29 Superfortress of the 16th Photographic Reconnaissance Squadron, USAF that crashed on 3 November 1948 at Higher Shelf Stones (Peak District) while on route from RAF Scampton to AFB Burtonwood. All 13 crew members were killed. The remains of the aircraft are scattered over a quarter of a mile of peat moorland.

I increased saturation for this one to place emphasis on the poppies and flag that provide colour to an otherwise very bleak scene.

A grad grey filter was added when processing through Lightroom, because the sky was pure white and too weighty in the shot

A shot worthy of the memory of those airmen.

Good image especially with the drabness of sky and lack of colour. Well done.........Sandy

Quite poignant with the little area of rememberance old & new.
A drop of HDR on all that rust would have brought out the great textures in there too.

I argree with chase that some HDR might bring out some more detail, here I have used the new HDR options in photoshop to "punch it up" although it might be a bit overdone to some eyes (I'm still getting used to the new options) Caroline

I think the small area of colour is enough in this sad scene of horror and destruction . So poignant Pete . Well captured xx
