I havent posted in a little while so heres my first for 2009.
Dont know how but i managed to drag myself out of bed to shoot the first sunrise of 2009. Wasnt the best sunrise ever but a nice frost and a calm lake. At around half ten there were about a hundred mad people swimming in the lake for charity. rather them than me as it was still about -3.
Thanks for looking and a happy new year
Gary

Absolutely stunning, Gary. Kudos for getting up early and braving the cold. Happy New Year.

Lovely depth and composition, and beautiful colour.

Wow, the colours are fabulous, and it has a great feel to it.

If we have time? For this, nothing less than all over the wall is good enough - though it works so well even in thumbnail! It has to be the best frost/sunrise shot so far this year - this winter, even - straight in my favourites. How do you catch subtleties of light like that? Stunning, truly... ![]()
Fantastic light, makes the foreground detail glow, and makes it of equal importance the shot as the dawn lit backdrop.
Graham
Starting 09 with the same high standard you achieved in 08, nice shot Gary.

This has all the elements that go to make a beautiful photograph.
Regardless of any technical concerns, this is the sort of image I would be proud to have on my wall and that makes it a winner in my book ![]()
That is wonderful... one day I'll take photos as good as that!
Simon
May not have been the best sunrise but it is certainly a craking picture.. I would be so pleased with this shot if it were mine.. Love the colours..

I would be so happy if this image was on my wall. While I donot know much about the ins and outs of photography I do know what moves and inspires me and this does that and more. Beautiful work well done!

Absolutely love this image! My favourite image on here so far...10 out of 10, and well done for getting up so early on new years day an inspiration to us all!
Did you do much post processing?
Regards,
Becky
Drool. Just flawless, so the award is richly deserved - congratulations. I use a 5D as well but always fail on the front-to-back sharpness. Your image though is, well, flawless. ![]()
Running any courses?
