First of all, I’d like to thank phil99 for his User Award on my ‘Roman Forum’, and to davey_griffo for his User Award on my ‘Just one Cornetto…’. Two UAs in less than one week – I’m over the moon!
Don’t know that there is a collective noun for a group of gondolas, so thought I’d invent one! Taken from one of the wooden jetties used for embarking / disembarking the gondolas, the line of gondolas seemed to go on forever. The Basilica di Santa Maria can be seen in the distance, and the two 12th century columns at the end of Piazetta San Marco can be seen to the right.
As mentioned yesterday, I’ll be meeting up with fellow EPZers Lillian and Ruthannette for the annual Carnival. If there are any other EPZers out there who’ll be in Venice at the same time, we’d love to meet up with you there – the more the merrier
I see that jenniealexander and her husband are going to be there the same week, and have since heard from Lillian that they will be on the same flight as her and Ruth out to Venice, so that’s great news!
