The lovely hamlet of Hartsop, in the Patterdale valley, in the Lake District......

I wasn't happy with the colours in the origonal image, hence creating a sepia version saved the day, & added
a bit more 'character' to the shot !!

Many thanks to all for the C&C's for Derwentwater Shoreline....& specially to Mike for his valued UA...well appreciated !Smile

Not being able to see any evidence of modernity, e.g.. TV aerials, satellite dishes, and with the toning applied, I feel this image could have been taken many decades back. A beautiful image and so well composed with the path leading up to the homesteads.

Lovely capture of this little hamlet, walked through here many times on the way up to High Street. I love the processing it brings out the best in the stonework. Smile Smile Smile

Looks like the ideal place to be without any electronic connections to the outside world, and get back to basics, chill out and enjoy a slooow tempo.

I'm sure I can smell bacon on the hob and coffee brewing by an open fire, aaahh breakfast in a cottage.

Dougie

I hate to think what my sense of smell might find in a colour version.

An image which I have been waiting for. A beautifully observed, composed, exposed image captured from the perfect point of view allowing you to take in as much of this wonderful rural scene as possible. Your chosen style of processing adding a timeless quality to such a great image.
