Another taken yesterday at Hastings - The Stade - in bright sunlight and howling winds, but I was happy to be there!
The foreground was very washed out, so I applied a 'reverse graduated filter' to it in Lightroom and darkened it down to bring out a bit more detail and I think it's worked. I lightened the sky very slightly in the same way with the grad filter.
Thanks for looking and for your time. Comments and/criticisms are, as usual, very welcome.
A big thank you to Malc (saltireblue) for his UA for Chimney tops - which is very much appreciated.

Superb shot, great poc and composition and your processing has worked a treat ![]()

I can certainly see the gale at work!
Startling colour, excellent definition and the tang of sea air.
Regards
Bill
Lovely work on the foreground, and that's where the interest is. I saw this over Bill's shoulder and it shouted out Hastings at me...
My approach to this sort of problem is to get what I can from Recover, then darken Highlights a bit, then use the Burn tool set to Shadows, maybe 3-4% exposure and a humungous pixel count, and sweep it over the area. I am a simple soul... But some time I'm going to explore Lightroom.

Love the NN201, but the fishing paraphernalis makes it for me, I get a feeling of men having been busy working, and it gives character and purpose to the boat.
A beautifully clear picture Ann. Hastings is a great place.

(PS. Sorry if I'm teaching you to suck eggs but if you resize your image to max 1000 pix across and Save you can upload that to the gallery and your exif will be automatically uploaded with it. ) ![]()
Your reverse grad has worked well for you here. The bold colours go well with the bright sunlight and stormy looking conditions. A windy day down on the beach.

Good low pov, Ann, and your 'howling wind' is well portrayed in the flags. A bright and breezy capture with some good processing.
Dave
Very well composed and you have balanced the exposure perfectly Ann, (Good work on that foreground)
Excellent work.

I can smell the sea in here, lots of atmosphere and textures and - wonderfully tangled ![]()
Lovely low angle capture, plenty detail to be seen here, good colours well processed.
John
Excellent colours, composition and foreground detail Ann, this looks like a great location for photography
