Lovely shot, nice detail and catchlight. Large is well worth a look.

Jack.

A fantastic shot - sharp details, a great background and it's got a super pose.

Super capture Cheryl. Who can resist a Red Squirrel, I want one in my PF but in the short spell we had in Scotland we saw none. Still another reason to go back I say. And yes I know they are elsewhere in the country, it's just an excuse to go north of the border.

Pleased to be 30 here Cheryl. Great square on pose and characteristic tail against the body. Well positioned food to get the seated pose.
Sharp as a pin

A perfect shot Cheryl, the sliver of background between the body and his tail make so much difference, wonderful eye contact although still 'munching on'
beautifully captured image

Great detail on squirrel.Nice comp.Would've thought lot more votes to follow.Voting seems strange at the moment on a lot of shots.

Well that's a surprise. To me this is a fairly standard red shot and I thought it was worth an airing because the squirrel is so perfectly displaying the classical pose, but did not expect an EC or so many votes.

I suppose the fact it is a classic is in its favour, whereas I tend to prefer the slightly more unusual shots where the pose lasts only a few seconds. I guess that has more to do with the challenge of capturing the image.

Who needs an excuse to go north Paul? Not me, already booked up for next year, although going a month later than this year.

Sorry just noticed, thanks Dougie and Brian for the awards. Not sure how I missed those earlier, the shock of it having so many votes as I had to log off quite early yesterday.

Well that just proves what I've always said you never know what others will like. Will be adding this one to my images on sale at a local cafe. If it can surprise me on here, perhaps it has the essence of an image that will make it saleable. Will be interesting to see how it does.

I too really like this Cheryl, the quality of the light on the red is beautiful and really brings him to life.
