...on the way up to Glencoe, one day this rock will split assunder as the power of the tree overcomes the hardness of the rck.
Simple yet very effective.
Ditto Andy's comment above. Add to that 'a fantastic elemental mood'.
Great dramatic sky!
The art is in its sublime simplicity, the flawless composition and the superb exposure. A beautiful landscape.
simple and effective
- works better with that sky than it would with a "fine" one
Fine capture Dougie. Is this the one near to the boundary between Argyll & Bute and Highland regions?
quite a shot Dougie with the ' mountain ash ' residing atop the rock but other than the comp' the exposure is very good
Simple and effective.
lovely and simple, subtle light - lovely shot
Works very well indeed Dougie. These lone rowans, safe from the deer and sheep, have always seemed to me to be the spirit of the Moor and Glencoe....you've captured it so well against that sky.
Thanks to all, I was wandering through some old "negs".
A great eye for a fine photograph. Excellent.
Great stuff...it looks wonderful set against that moody looking sky
Malik & Mary.
Great composition - all the elements come together superbly. Rock plantings are one of Bonsai culture's forms and this image just shows how Bonsai really is just attempting to emulate nature in miniature. Nice one. Bruce.
Like it! Great sky and atmosphere. Probably look good as a B&W also.
I know this tree well - great composition with a menacing sky. Agree with above that it would also make an excellent monochrome image, cheers,
Amazing it is a very powerful image in its simplicity and to convey the strength of a tree so well.
Love the composition and moody sky, well done.
Great shot. Great composition
Lovely colours and a great solitary feeling
Understated and compelling.I seem to be giving no 29 clicks today well next one will be able to turn you over...Great shot..Judith
Have an RC on me mate. This rock always amazes me and often draws my eye of the road as I pass it. Well captured.
Great comp. and lighting Dougie.
Would make a great mono conversion.
I've passed this tree for years waiting on a sky like that - damn !
Sublime Douglas, well done.
That is a cracking sky.
Cheers Simon, looking at it now, I wish I had a 3 part pano, but there it is, maybe another time.
