The ruin of Rynelrich, an old farm near the Cairngorms, shortly after sunrise. Now sheep grazing and and grouse moorland.

Excellent lead through, Al, and the receding slopes picked out by the shadows look great. Late night or early morning??![]()
Dave
Wow, cheers Andy, Ant, Netta, Dave and John!
Dave, who said you never read my missives?
The clue to time of day is in the photo blurb! ![]()
I was thinking about previous advice you've given me when I composed this shot: the RHS and FG slopes were in full sunlight with little relief so I had to show as little of them as possible whilst still retaining the ruin and the lead in line.
The scale of the scene can be appreciated by the lone homestead here: wonderful interplay of light and shade with the valley bottom meandering into the middle and far distance.
In other words, a fine composition and captured at an excellent time of day.
Ronnie.
Naw, you misunderstand me!!! 6.56am maybe when you took it.... but when you were coming home after a late night or setting off on an early morning ![]()
Dave
Love the diagonal lead-in and the interplay between light and shadow Alan.
Thanks Ronnie, Diane and Derek. It's a shot I'd been planning for a week or two, just had to wait for a clear morning.
Dave, I was actually coming home from an early morning! I'd been up a hill for sunrise and returned to this spot on my way back to the car. I had to wait for the shadow to receed from the ruined croft though, which made me late getting home and under pressure trying to get to work on time!
