Meant to put this up along with Schoolhouse Brook, it's the pond across the road from the brook, and discharges into it through a culvert under the road. As you can see, although there was no ice in the brook, a light skim had started to form here. Always wonder how long that tree is going to go on defying gravity, judging by the growth on it, has been that way for a long time.

Although there is ice on the pond, there's still a winter warmth in the image with the sun catching on various parts, Jim. Very nicely composed shot, with good f/g interest. As you suggest, the growth on that central tree is substantial, so I reckon it's there for the duration.

A lovely scene Jim, excellent light and composition. I wonder how long it will be before that tree ends up in the water!
We had a tree like that in our local park - seemed like it had been there for a very long time, leaning out over the water, then we had that big flood in 2007, and that did it. Now the tree is gone, and something seems slightly amiss in that particular spot of the river.
