Went looking for Adders at Fineshade Woods saw at least eight basking in the sun.While I was knelt down taking this one another one slid over the top of my boot.

A risky business looking for adders, I would pop off to the nearest school in future rather than risking your neck. However this is a stunning image so very well observed and photographed...

yes Danny they are but their venom rarely kills humans,i'm not sure but I think the last human fatality from an Adder bite was in 1975.More people are killed by wasps and bees.
