Taken in the dark, i left the shutter open for 79 sec., to grab this photo in Austin TX. i thought the lights here were amazing considering it was sooo dark that night.

A nice picture and well exposed. The vehicular lights come out as nice straight lines as one would expect and the surrounding scenery is well portrayed. No crits here as for me you have achieved that which you set out to accomplish.

Good luck with your degree course.

There's a nice balance to this, Mike, and it has turned out extremely well, with the gold reflected on the water, the different coloured lights in the background, and the beautifully straight car light trails.
That's a really long exposure, but it has worked so well.
Quite often we see light trails which are just light trails, with nothing much else of interest within the frame, but this is significantly different, it's as if the trails are an added bonus to an already excellent night scene.
There is a white horizontal line in the lower sky and I'm not sure what it is. Perhaps it was an aeroplane? I think I'd clone that out.
Also, you have some dust bunnies showing in the sky, I can see at least five.
Pamela.

pamelajean; i saw the line also i believe its an airplane ..i have debated what to do with it ...lol i think ill take it out but also wavered about leaving it in for realism:/
thank you all for the kind words and im onto my next project tonight...

Nice image. I would simply leave it alone. Well done.
