Heading back uphill to our hotel from dinner on the Grand' Place in Brussels we interrupted our march to take in the view from the Mont des Arts near a dedicated landscape photographer, with his pro Canon, tall tripod, assistant and stepladder, plus numerous wielders of mobile phones and pocket cameras. My old D70 was back in the hotel so the Emergency Lumix had to stand in once again.
Not hand-held; no flash; I just stuck my jacket on a concrete bollard in lieu of tripod and put the camera on top. "Normal" exposure mode, 87mm (35mm equivalent) focal length and 1.3 seconds exposure at f5.2 with -0.3 EV to take in the sky; ISO 80. I'm quite pleased with what the tichy sensor has achieved, but I'm not telling how many 'near misses' I ditched ![]()
I bought the Lumix two years ago after reading and re-reading the test report on ephotozine, since when it has done me sterling service. Why would I want to re-read the review when it was superseded ages ago?

Absolutely stunning image, exceptionally well taken, I love the sky, great colours, with the lite tower leading you from the sky to the darker fg, definitely has to be seen large to fully appreciate this super image.

Nice shot Bill, and much better large.
Hey at least there are no links to anything flower related!

Makes a lovely silhouette Bill and just enough detail in the foreground to capture the atmosphere.Bet the Pro togger didn't fare any better with all his gear.

Have a great weekend you two ![]()
That's a fine image Bill, the light on the statue give such depth to the scene, wonderful atmosphere, Adrian
The Lumix and your capability have served you well here Bill. Especially when viewed large this is a deep and crystal clear image.

Lumixes (or should that be Lumii?) have Leica lenses, don't they? Could that have contributed to this exceptional image (along with your undoubted skill and perseverance, of course?). I well remember your dad's old Focotar that you bolted to my Durst in the days when making photographs involved smelly chemicals. How I miss them.

A wonderful night shot Bill, Graceland is another highly sasisfied Panlumix user
