Quite amusing in retrospect how this one came about. If anyone digs through my portfolio to find the ' Choosing a new home ' picture then you should be able to see the continuation here, humerous Smile

Anyway, a picture of a young lad drinking tea (I think ) who's mum is out of sight in the hut.
Both of them showed an interest in my pictures and agreed to add some subject matter to the foreground...

Thanks for looking - best seen large.

I just love this shot because it gives an often photographed subject a new and humorous twist. The colours are fantastic.
Last time I was at Whitby I could have sworn that the beach huts had been removed and looking at them now it looks a if they could have been renewed or refurbished?

The setting sun has produced a lovely glow to the huts and the surface of the pavement. The line of the huts and the edge of the promenade converge nicely on the figures walking out of the scene at the end of the day, adding to the solitary feel of the boy sitting alone. If I'd wish for one thing it would be that the boy were sitting a few huts closer to the front of the frame to give him a little more dominance.

So well composed Caleb, the colours of the huts are striking, really looks good large! I agree with Melanie about the boy being nearer the front but smashing shot anyway Smile
