I don't normally do still life images or flowers, but these 2 caught my eye. We have a pond at home and it is interesting seeing how this little ecosystem keeps changing. Birds come and go, plants come up and die away, there is always something different going on. We even had a toad show up - but he has been elusive!
This was shot with an old Nikon 50mm prime lens at f1.8 so the background has been taken out. Some post production in Aperture to affect mid-tones has rendered the background almost black.
