I've been a fan of a-ha since 1985 and yet didn't see the legendary "Take on Me" Video until May 1986! I was awestruck by it. I've seen a-ha several times now, in Birmingham, Manchester and Liverpool.
This was at the MEN in Manchester and was to be their last UK tour date ever, until they announced a few more. Their last UK TV appearance ever will be on Monday evening on the Alan Titchmarsh show.
I booked my ticket the day they came on sale (26 February) and therefore was only 5 rows away from the stage - this is essential if you wish to take some half decent concert photography. I got away with my Nikon D80 (SLR!) and used it to my hearts content. The light levels were quite low at times, especially on the singer's faces and I wasn't going to increase my ISO above 320 (as it degrades the image considereably). I'd rather underexpose using a low ISO and increase the exposure in photoshop - not ideal either but concert photography is all about compromise - and fast shutter speeds are definitely not an option unless you have a very expensive camera.
Anyway, this is a Morten Harket. Yes this was the colour of the lighting (and not very bright either), I'd underexposed it and increased the exposure in photoshop by about 4 stops!
All comments and votes, very welcome indeed.

Excellent capture, this type of photography is not easy, well done...JIM.
Thnaks Nella, Pete, Tony and Jim for your kind comments!
Andrew.
Good job Andrew, very nice idea must have been quite a moment when the shot came out like this for you, congrats, I would put a halo round him, and dull those highlights on his left hand, and with a large feather, it would darken the B/G some more for a better print...A truly inspirational shot. Chen.
