A winter view across the Firth of Clyde to Ailsa Craig, a volcanic plug and source of most of the world's granite curling stones.
Apologies if I am not around much in the next few days: the Powers that Be have decreed that some bedroom decoration is in order before family members arrive for a visit. "Homebase, here I come!"
Details: see EXIF
Many thanks to all who CandC'd on "From Eaglesham Moor": all your comments are so much appreciated.
Happy decorating !!!
Lovely light here Ronnie
Lovely light in this image Ronnie along with the textures in the water.....Derek
Nice shot Ronnie ~ Enjoy the decorating, dont you just love it
Ah! she who must be obeyed is obviously feeling better ...now i did not know about the curling stones so nice to know...very atmospheric shot this one Ronnie and the wee boat does add scale to the whole thing nice work ..mind your back while decorating
Great shot Ronnie, and looks like a huge wave is about to roll in here
and also I think on the home front
A shot steeped in atmosphere, with lovely light. The barely seen boat is a bonus in this lovely composition.
A really lovely image Ronnie.
Lovely image Ronnie - Yuk, decorating - watch that back !
A lovely shot Ronnie! Love the tones and Colours x x
Wonderful image Ronnie.
Excellent light and tones.
Did you try it without the foreground?
Beautiful image, Ronnie - the island is the same color as the sea and seems part of it. Wonderful colors. I don't envy you redecorating!
Excellent composition Ronnie.
no fun redecorating--
love this almost mono image, a most interesting view!
This is beautiful; I like the sky and that little boat to the right.
Good luck with the decorating.... Look forward to your return to the "real world"!!!
Now don't you get any paint on your photography goggles Ronnie. I gave up diy some time ago, we need to work on keeping people employed who are much better at it than we are. So maybe we need to get rid of David Cameron and his cronnies.
BTW nice shot of the wee island in the Clyde. Been there myself just recently.
Great image, Ronnie, lovely light in that sky Enjoy your decorating!
A place which I see nearly every day and have never fought of taking a picture of it. Great picture, nice lighting and colours.
Lovely shot Ronnie - great tones. I thought Ailsa Craig was a tomato - my dad used to grow them!! Don't overdo things with the decorating - watch the back! Lou
where is the wee boat Theresa mentions, I dont see it but I see some gulls on the telegraph wire its a good picture with the sunset lighting it all up
Lovely shot Ronnie. Love the light rays coming down. Think I watched a programme not so long ago about the granite being cut from here for the curling stones. Moira
Wonderful image Ronnie,excellent image
Love this one! Enjoy the decorating, I must admit as the weather slowly gets better it makes the house look dingy and in need of decorating...oh dear, my only saving grace is the fact that I'm having my THIRD knee replacement ( not many people get three but I like to be different!) in six weeks!
That is one big rock. Nice one.
Happy decorating - I have plenty to do too - great shot - there used to be a high quality manufacturer of large diesel engines called Ailsa Craig which was based in Ashford
Hi Ronnie, this looks like the view we get from Scalloway of Foula , you've captured beautiful blue hue, stunning image,
good luck with the decorating,
Great image Ronnie and all the best with the decorating
Lovely image, Ronnie. Wonderful light and colour. Beautiful capture. Best of luck with the decorating
Beautiful light Ronnie, beautifully shot. Gives the island an air of mystery.
Wonderful shot Ronnie, I thought you'd used a longer lens as it seems so close.
Glad my wife doesn't look in on my EPZ activities or you'd have been giving her ideas, our kitchen is looong overdue for an overhaul, luckily she's finally given up nagging me about it, though that doesn't mean she's accepted my tardiness
I missed this one Ronnie, a fine shot,
An amazing and mysterious scene
