Another shot of a leaping squirrel from earlier in the year.
Thanks for all the comments on recent(ish) uploads
What a fine moment,I like it.
Don't look down...
Beautiful form!! This is or should be a prize winner. TG
Another great action shot, Cheryl.
You have got the capture of these acrobatic wee characters down to a "T", Cheryl: another cracking shot, the action totally frozen and the detail could so well recorded.
All that leaping about, must be nuts.
Thanks Anthony for the GEA
It would be interesting to see your exif Cheryl as to me there is an incredible amount of noise in the BG
Sharing is learning
You don't get more action in an action shot than this Cheryl. Superb.
Who moaned about noise, for a shot like that you just got to put up with it.. what matters is it is sharp and spectacular!!
Thanks Zoran and James for the UAs
ISO settings were very, very high! The image does not do justice to just how poor the light conditions were. There was a lot of experimentation going on as to the required shutter speed, and therefore the ISO was allowed to go as high as it needed to in order to maintain a minimum shutter speed of around 1/4000th.
Personally not bothered by the noise as the file could be cleaned, I just have not done so. There are quite a few images taken at a lower ISO, but because of entering them in a competition I have chosen not to load those to ePZ at this moment in time.
There were two of us taking images at the time and we decided a noisy sharp image was preferable to a 'clean' but unsharp or unusable image. The main reason being that on both camera files (nikon and canon) the noise was in the background and not detrimental to the main subject. Therefore if so desired it could be cleaned up.
WOW......this is a fantastic shot ,right on time - very well done......
