ALGOMA GUARDIAN was a bit down from the HAIDA and so it was to large to capture in a single frame so also during the TWILIGHT hours I shot many shots, and thus once back at my apartment I used PHOTO MERGE – PANORAMIC IMAGE with Adobe Photoshop Elements 7., so once this opened the application I did many techniques within the application with the second last step of resized to 600 pixels by ? then auto sharpened for upload to this GALLERY.

Hi Tim,
I have done a quick mod to level the horizon on the image, for me the water at this angle dosen't work. I have also removed the rope in the bottom left corner, it could be rebuilt with the clone tool but because of the crop I decided to remove it. It's a strange angle to take this image from and I can understand how you were trying to get across the imposing size of the vessel and without the water it may well have worked. ![]()

The ship is very impressive, Timothy, and I like the angle from which you have taken it, but not the tilt. You have good detail and nice colour in the sky.
When I simply straightened the horizon, the ship seemed distorted, so I used perspective correction. Even then, the buildings on the right were not straight, but that seemed ok because I intended to crop that side, placing the ship on the right side. In my modification I cropped and gave the image two thirds sky and one third sea on the vertical. Like Martin, I cloned out the rope bottom left because it didn't seem to be attached to the boat, although I know it was. I also cloned out the red cone and sharpened the image.
It may not have been possible, without falling into the water, but it would have been good if you could have managed to get the right-hand rope going into the bottom right corner, and moving your camera more to the left.
Pamela.
A very strange effect here. This is actually a strong compelling image, but the sloping sea on the left jars. However, the ship and buildings appear vertical, so the angle at which the camera was presented has resulted in correct perspective on one side and not on the other.
Has to be the wide angle used causing it. Not easy to correct.
Still rather like it as presented.
Paul
