From our recent visit to Majorca in early May. Crowded beach! Shot through hotel side window on sixth floor - got away with the glass I think. Exposed for sand. 250mm so nearer 400mm with lens hood pressed against glass for stability. ISO400, aperture priority, f8. About 1/800 sec.

Personally I'm not sure. If he hadn't been there, then yes. As it is, the jury's out I'm afraid.

For me, it needs the man. Of course, this is what it's all about - opinion on the subject. I think the man gives scale and actually emphasises the emptiness by being the only one there. He was, actually, the only person on a very large beach. That's Majorca in early March - great, no one there!
